About Woodstock State School
Woodstock State School was opened on 8 September, 1890. In 2015 our school celebrated 125 years with a gala event.
The school is located at Woodstock approx 42 km south/west of Townsville. The district is primarily a rural area, producing beef cattle and small crop farming.
Our motto “Each day brings a chance to do better”, highlights our belief that everything, no matter how good it may seem, can be made better. Our students and staff are constantly pushing standards higher and refusing to rest on past achievements.
Our school follows Positive Behaviour for Learning (PBL) with three school rules (We are safe, We are Respectful, We are Learners).
Our current enrolment is 33 students from Prep - Year 6.
Composite classes operate with the combinations being (Prep,1,2),(3,4,5&6).
The school is serviced by the following dedicated staff:
We have a visiting guidance officer, and other visiting personnel based on students' needs.
Our school values positive relationships and due to the size and culture of the school, all year levels interact cohesively.
The school is a 'Sunsmart' school where the students must wear broad brimmed or bucket hats when out in the playground. The rule "no hat , no collar- no play" is strictly upheld.
